Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was a Nigerian military officer and politician who served as President of the Republic of Biafra from 1967 to 1970 during the Nigerian Civil War.
He subsequently fled to Ivory Coast in exile.[1]
Chukwuemeka "Emeka" Odumegwu Ojukwu was born on 4 November 1933 in Zungeru in northern Nigeria. His father was Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu.[1]
He was educated first at King's College, Lagos, and later at Epsom College and later Lincoln College, Oxford University, where he earned a master's degree in History.
